The journey home begins. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey arrives on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and digital this November, with six physical editions available to pre-order at Bluraymania.
Following its theatrical run, Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic is heading to home cinemas. For collectors, the release offers an opportunity to add the film to their shelves—and explore the craftsmanship behind its ambitious production.
Homer’s Epic Through Christopher Nolan’s Lens
The Odyssey follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, on his perilous return from the Trojan War. Determined to reunite with his wife, Penelope, he must navigate a world of extraordinary dangers, where each encounter threatens to take him further from home.
Matt Damon leads the cast alongside Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Samantha Morton, with Zendaya and Charlize Theron. Nolan writes and directs, bringing his interest in large-scale storytelling to one of literature’s enduring tales of survival and homecoming.
A Closer Look Behind the Camera
Universal’s home entertainment release includes more than 90 minutes of bonus material. A collection of 12 production featurettes, personally overseen by Nolan, explores the adaptation, locations, sets, action sequences, effects and music.
The dedicated bonus disc invites viewers to examine how the film was built—from the practical challenges of production to the creative decisions that shaped its finished world.
