Fifteen-year-old Helena, from a family of circus performers, often dreams of breaking out of this environment and living a normal life. After another quarrel with her parents, who are making their own plans for her future, Helena’s mother becomes seriously ill, and the girl blames herself for this. On the eve of her mother's major operation, Helena dreams of a strange world inhabited by two queens, bizarre creatures and masked inhabitants. However, not all is well in this country - the white queen is also seriously ill, and only the Mirror Mask can save her, which the girl will have to find. Over time, the main character begins to doubt that she is actually sleeping...
