Young naive American Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen), having arrived in Vietnam, soon realizes that he will have to fight not only the Viet Cong, but also soul-corroding fear, physical fatigue and growing anger. His two commanders (Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe) act in such a way that it is difficult to draw a clear line between war with the enemy and war with each other. As a result, chaos and hatred creep into Taylor’s heart, reality suffocates him, dulls his senses and pushes into the background the main value - human life.
