The film tells the true story of a former salesman, Michael, who became a shepherd. His first assignment in his new career is a trip to a provincial town in Tennessee, where he needs to close a small church. If he completes the task successfully, he will be transferred to a church in a big city, an assignment both he and his family need. However, a seemingly simple task turns into unexpected difficulties - refugees from Burma, where the war is raging, arrive in the town and come to the church for help.
