All We Had

Thirteen-year-old Ruthie Carmichael and her mother Rita are on the verge of poverty, despite the fact that Rita works several jobs. When their landlord throws them out on the street, Rita decides to use her good looks to quickly find a boyfriend who will take them in. Ruthie persuades her to leave, and they go East in search of a better life. During the trip, their car breaks down and their money runs out. They have to stay in one small town, where luck finally returns to them.
