In the sands of the Sahara there is an oasis - the city of Biskra, where rich Arabs choose their brides and concubines. Sheikh Ahmed Ben Hassan, the head of a prosperous clan, also arrived here. When he saw the beautiful Englishwoman Diana Mayo, an obstinate and wayward girl, he fell in love with her at first sight and decided that she would become his wife.
