The Good German

The action takes place in post-war Berlin, reduced to ruins by World War II. American war correspondent Jake Geismar finds himself drawn into the politics of his former lover Lena Brandt, whose missing husband is the target of a manhunt by both the American and Soviet armies. The situation escalates as Jake tries to find out what Lena is hiding, desperate to escape from Berlin with her husband. She plans to use the contacts of Jake's personal driver, American soldier Tully, who has access to the black market. But there is no guarantee that they will not end up in an even bigger trap...
