The Arrival

One day, radio astronomer Zane Zaminsky heard a signal from space. However, for Zane's "discovery of the century," his boss Jordian fires him, leading Zaminsky to conclude that there is a grand conspiracy to conceal contact with an extraterrestrial civilization.

In search of proof for his hypothesis, Zane travels to a Mexican province, where he meets Ilana Green, an expert in global weather forecasting. Here, in Mexico, at great risk to his life, Zane discovers that aliens feel like masters on Earth.

Of course, they haven't conquered Earth yet, but when choosing how to solve the problems of life on their own, apparently dying planet (through negotiations with Earthlings or through the destruction of our civilization), the aliens chose the second option...
