Earthsea is in danger, the world of magic is on the verge of extinction. The universal balance is disrupted: dragons living in the western limit of the fairy-tale country suddenly appear in the east in the domains of people. The Archmage Ged goes in search of the root cause of the trouble. On the way, he meets Arren, Prince of Enlad, who, after killing his father, flees his native land, pursued by a shadow. Arriving in the capital of Earthsea, North Town, the travelers find refuge in the house of the White Lady, the former guardian priestess of the dark Tombs of Atuan.
