Spartacus (1960) The story of the gladiator Spartacus, his beloved Varinia, and the ambitious Roman general Crassus. An irresistible desire for freedom forces Spartacus to raise a legendary slave rebellion, which became a major milestone in world history.
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) Who are we? What place do we occupy in the Universe? These are the questions that the heroes of the film face. The crew of the spaceship S.S. Discovery — captains Dave Bowman, Frank Poole and their onboard computer HAL-9000 — must explore the galaxy and understand why aliens are watching Earth. Along the way, they will make many unexpected discoveries…
A Clockwork Orange (1971) The film provided an exhaustive analysis of the causes of youth crime, the new generation's intolerance of the usual moral values and the foundations of modern society. The ruthless leader of a gang of teenagers who commit murders and rapes ends up in prison and undergoes special treatment to suppress the subconscious desire for violence. But life outside the prison gates is such that the measures taken to "correct the cruelty of character" cannot change anything.
The Shining (1980) The main character, Jack Torrance, has come to an elegant, secluded hotel to work as a caretaker during the off-season with his wife and son. Torrance has never been here before. Or is that not quite true? The answer lies in the darkness, woven from a criminal nightmare.
Full Metal Jacket (1987) American Marine Corps Recruit Training Facility. A brutal, inhumane system designed to turn homeboys into trained, cold-blooded killers. They are being prepared for the Vietnam War, where they will have to ask themselves the question "Isn't war hell?", otherwise it is simply impossible to kill every day without understanding what it is for?
