A special patrol created to provide emergency assistance to vacationers operates on one of the many Malibu beaches. These are brave and well-trained people who are selected for certain physical and medical qualities. Their task is to detect in time and provide the necessary assistance to those in distress. One of them is a highly experienced rescuer, Mitch Buchannon, and his assistant, Matt Brody, is still young and inexperienced.
