After several years of growth, the brilliant career of rock star Dewey Finn ends in complete failure. All that awaits him now are unpaid debts and severe depression. But, after intercepting a phone call that was not intended for him and being amazed at the salary ($650 a week), Dewey gets a job at a private school. His attitude towards music and children works wonders there, and soon the opportunity arises to start a stellar career again. You just need to win the competition for the best rock bands - and all problems will be easily resolved. Dewey is full of optimism, because with him is his new friend - nine-year-old Zach, who plays the guitar masterfully!
