The Salyut-7 space station, which is in orbit in unmanned mode, suddenly stops responding to signals from the flight control center. A decision was made to send a rescue expedition into orbit. The space crew must find the “dead” station and, for the first time in the world, dock with a 20-ton block of uncontrollable iron. The astronauts understand that they have little chance of returning to Earth. But this risky path is the only possible one. They must not only penetrate Salyut-7, but also revive it. Will two people be able to prevent an imminent disaster and save the planet from the fall of the station? A rescue mission turns into a dangerous ordeal. A real space detective story is unfolding in orbit. The film is based on real events: the flight to the Salyut-7 station in 1985 is considered the most difficult flight in the history of astronautics.
