The cartoon's protagonist, Rio Blu, a somewhat nerdy resident of the small state of Minnesota, believes himself to be the last representative of a rare parrot species. But news of the existence of a charming female named Jewel compels our feathered beauty (without even wearing white pants) to travel to the homeland of his ancestors, distant, sunny Rio de Janeiro! Thus, his life turns into an unforgettable adventure, as vibrant and festive as a Brazilian carnival! The cartoon Rio harmoniously combines a touching plot, a whole menagerie of vibrant characters, each with their own distinct personalities, a riot of colors, and invigorating Latin and contemporary music.
Rio 2 (2014)
Blu, Jewel, and their three children, the main characters of the animated film Rio 2, live a happy life in the magical city of Rio de Janeiro. When Jewel decides their children need to learn to live like real birds, she insists on an adventurous trip to the wilds of the Amazon River. There, trying to fit in with his new surroundings, Blu begins to worry about losing Jewel and the children, who are following the call of the wild. The Russian versions of the animated films Rio and Rio 2 were voiced by Pavel Derevyanko and Brigada U (Ilya Kolesnikov and Arkady Dzhem).
