The film adaptation of Tom Clancy's novel will not leave fans of large-scale political thrillers indifferent. Harrison Ford, as always, is appropriate in the role of one hundred percent American, a walking concentration of virtues, for whom even the President of the United States is not a figure if he is playing a dishonest game. Ford's hero, a high-ranking CIA official, passionately and resourcefully fights both the cocaine mafia and the rotten Washington establishment, risking his life and career for the sake of one thing - the truth. The Columbia sequences are amazingly shot by camera wizard Donald McAlpine.
