The Help
The film takes place in the town of Jackson, Mississippi, in the sixties of the twentieth century. Three completely different women, two dark-skinned maids and a young white girl, are united by an unusual friendship and a desire to challenge the ossified provincial society. Emma Stone as Skeeter, Viola Davis as Aibileen, and Octavia Spencer as Minnie star in this humorous and hopeful story about how true friendship can change long-held stereotypes. The friends find the strength to step beyond the boundaries that limit them, and thanks to their courage, the residents of a provincial town begin to understand that times are changing.
