After Earth

Events take place a thousand years after the catastrophe that forced humanity to leave the Earth. A planet called Nova Prime becomes their new home. The legendary General Cypher Rage returns from yet another combat mission to a family that previously did without his parental attention to become a father to his 13-year-old son China. During an asteroid storm, an aircraft with a father and son on board crashes, falling onto an unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. And while Rage Sr. lies dying among the wreckage of his ship, his son must cross a hostile landscape to launch their rescue beacon.
