Description

1918 The First World War and the Spanish flu pandemic are raging in the world, and the girl Pearl is toiling on a Texas farm. She dreams of breaking out of this wilderness and becoming a dancer, but instead she is forced to obey her strict mother, care for her paralyzed father and dutifully wait for her husband from the front. When Pearl learns that there will be an audition for a dance troupe in a nearby town, she decides to get in at any cost.
