A deadly virus is brought from Africa to America by an infected monkey. Epidemiologists from the US Army Infectious Disease Research Institute, including Colonel Sam Daniels, are dispatched urgently to the epicenter of the outbreak. Two of Sam's senior military commanders—his superiors—are concealing from him the fact that they are familiar with the virus, which they have been cultivating for several years. Furthermore, they have even developed a serum capable of neutralizing it. To prevent a terrible epidemic, the serum is needed, which can only be obtained from the blood of the original host—that very monkey. The situation is complicated by the fact that its location is unknown, and every minute is counting down...
