Edward and Connie Sumner are enviable: together with their eight-year-old son, dog and housekeeper, they enjoy life in a quiet suburb of New York. But fate, in the form of a young man whom Connie encounters in Soho, deals a blow to this embodiment of the “American Dream” and to the happy, albeit slightly monotonous, existence of the couple. A chance meeting develops into a whirlwind romance that has everything - mystery, spontaneity, beauty and... danger. When Edward finds out that his wife is hiding something from him, he begins to follow her, finding out the painful details of the deception. Unable to bear the burden of the secret, he meets with Connie's lover, and the anger that has accumulated in him comes out in a fit of terrible rage, unexpected for him.
