A Moscow family is going through a painful divorce. Zhenya and Boris are still married, but each of them has actually already begun a new chapter of life, and therefore they can’t wait to finish the formalities and get a divorce. In a series of conflicts and endless mutual claims, Zhenya and Boris neglect their only child, 12-year-old Alyosha, who feels absolutely useless to both parents. After another quarrel, Alyosha disappears.
