Future. After a nuclear war, the Earth suffered a terrible environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is almost entirely covered by forests that emit poisonous plant spores into the atmosphere. The surviving people live in areas not yet covered by forests, and periodically encounter monstrous insect-like monsters. The Valley of the Winds is one of the kingdoms formed on the ruins of former states. It is controlled by the brave princess Nausicaä. But the peaceful existence of the Valley of the Wind is disrupted when the small country faces warlike neighbors who seek to recreate dangerous weapons that can completely destroy the planet.
