High school student Cady Haron, who grew up in Africa, is going to public school for the first time. Without staying too long on the bench of outcasts, the girl quickly finds herself in the ranks of the “plastic” beauties - the most popular schoolgirls, led by Regina George and her loyal subjects Gretchen and Karen. As it turns out, the rules of survival here are not much different from the African jungle. Cady has the temerity to fall in love with Regina's ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels, and now her main concern is not to become Regina's prey. With the help of her outsider friends Janice and Damian, Cady must take on the school's biggest predator before everyone else is at each other's throats.
