Scrat (who once again accidentally caused a global problem, opening the way to the world of dinosaurs) is still trying to catch the elusive nut, but this time he has a rival - the rat squirrel Scratty, while simultaneously fighting obsessively for the nut, the two fall in love with each other . Saber-tooth tiger Diego wonders if he's become too "soft" in the company of his friends, mammoths Manfred and Ellie are awaiting the birth of their baby mammoth, and Sid the sloth gets into trouble for stealing dinosaur eggs for his makeshift family. Saving poor Sid, the friends find themselves in a mysterious “under-the-ice” world, where dinosaurs, an aggressive environment and new incredible adventures await them, and they also meet a dinosaur hunter - a weasel named Buck.
