Kraken

A Russian special-purpose missile submarine vanishes without a trace during a secret mission in the Greenland Sea. A crew led by Viktor Voronin, whose older brother commanded the missing submarine, is sent to search for it. The sailors are tasked with finding the submarine at any cost and preventing the new secret weapon from falling into enemy hands. Meanwhile, geological research at a polar station in the northern waters awakens the Kraken—a gigantic monster capable of blending with the underwater darkness and possessing a high degree of intelligence. It is this monster that the sailors searching for the missing submarine will encounter.
