The Finest Hours
On February 18, 1952, a powerful hurricane hit the New England coast. The Boston-bound tanker Pendleton was literally torn in two and thirty-two sailors were trapped on the sinking vessel. Senior Assistant Engineer Ray Sybert took control and convinced his comrades to work together to get to shore alive. Meanwhile, reports of a tanker crash were received at the US Coast Guard station in Chatham, Massachusetts. Officer Daniel Cluff decided to launch a risky operation to rescue the Pendleton crew. Four rescuers, led by Captain Bernie Weber, on a wooden boat with a weak engine and almost no means of navigation, will have to fight back against gigantic waves and hurricane-force winds in order to save the sailors in distress... The film is based on real events.
