In the center of Moscow, a group of operatives under the leadership of Major Smirnov is preparing an operation to capture a gang of armed criminals led by the mysterious and elusive German. In a brutal shootout that suddenly breaks out, the law enforcement officers suffer a humiliating defeat, and a television crew that happens to be at the scene of the events films and broadcasts a report on the police fiasco. The young and ambitious head of the PR service Katya Verbitskaya offers her plan to save the “honor of the uniform”: the Moscow police will be able to restore their good name by turning the capture of a particularly dangerous gang into a multimedia reality show. But the bandits caught in the sights of television cameras do not remain in debt - they take hostages and begin their own broadcast via the Internet. The war between the police and criminals is unfolding both in the real world and in the virtual space. But there is another side in this war - Smirnov. He is not interested in media projects - he is driven by a sense of duty and a thirst for revenge.
