Lera studies humanity and its needs during the day with the help of social surveys, which are educational practice at the institute, and at night she dances in a club to earn money and feed herself and her mother. The people she meets are as unhappy as her family. Her father recently left for another woman, but constantly comes back, unable to understand his own choice. He makes the life of loved ones unbearable. The mother experiences the breakup painfully and constantly sleeps, ignoring reality. Lera works at the club under the stage name Gerda. She doesn’t know how to live further, where and why to go, and most importantly, how to make life better. The adult, unchanged, unhappy world that Lera observes day and night seems hopeless.
