May 2020, the pandemic is gaining momentum in the United States. In the quiet provincial Addington, where a quarantine has been declared and a mask regime has been introduced, a confrontation is brewing between Seville County Sheriff Joe Cross and the city's mayor Ted Garcia, who plans to run for re-election and is planning a grandiose project - the construction of a large-scale data processing center based on artificial intelligence. Unwilling to put up with the plans of the official, Cross decides to challenge him and puts forward his candidacy for the post of mayor, unaware of the unpredictable consequences his decision will lead to.
