"Joy" is the moving story of four generations of a family. The plot centers on the girl Joy, who turns into a woman who becomes the founder of a business dynasty and its head. Betrayal and betrayal, loss of innocence and the scars of love pave the way for an emotional comedy about becoming a true leader of the family, and how any enterprise inevitably collides with the world of commerce. Allies and adversaries change places both inside and outside the family, and only Joy's inner experiences and wild imagination help her through the storms that await her in life. Like all of David O. Russell's previous films, Joy defies genre cinema to tell a story of family, loyalty and love.
