Jack Reacher decided to take a break and return to his native 110th military police unit, where he was once the chief. Moreover, he has an additional interest - the current unit commander, Major Susan Turner. It was Major Turner who helped him out, conveying valuable information in her exciting voice over the phone that helped Jack Reacher get out of serious trouble. And now he has the opportunity to thank his colleague personally. Only when he finds himself in the location of the unit, Reacher learns that just the other day Susan was arrested for receiving a large bribe. And he himself was accused of a murder sixteen years ago, the events of which he remembers nothing about. Strange coincidence or someone's malicious intent?
