Description

Doctor Zhivago (1965)
An unrivaled master of realism and scale, David Lean brings to the screen Boris Pasternak's passionate novel about life in Russia at war and two hearts torn apart by love. It's full of iconic images: revolution on the streets, infantry charging across neutral land, a train ride through the Urals, a snow-covered dacha. Omar Sharif stars in the title role, with Julie Christie as his longtime love Lara, and both are swept along by the strange waves of history. Filled with Maurice Jarre's sultry score (which won the film one of its five Oscars) and unforgettable images, Doctor Zhivago is a cinematic masterpiece.

Gone with the Wind (1939)
An unforgettable love story set during the American Civil War, which won 10 Oscars, including the award for Best Picture. The immortal heroes of this epic saga - Scarlett, Rhett, Ashley, Melanie, Mother and Prissy - managed to conquer more than one generation of moviegoers. The world-famous novel by Margaret Mitchell, published in 1936, was reprinted 48 times in the first three years! The film adaptation was not inferior to the novel in success, was nominated for an Oscar in 14 nominations, and received 8 of them in 1940. for Best Picture, Best Actress (Vivien Leigh), Best Supporting Actress (Hattie McDaniel), Best Director (Victor Fleming), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography (Color), Best Art Direction, Best Editing, and became an eternal legend of world cinema, topping the list of the most profitable films of all time for many decades. For its 50th anniversary, the film once again underwent a "rejuvenation operation." Modern technology has made it possible to do the impossible: thanks to the fine work of the masters at the Metro-Golden-Meyer laboratory, it was possible to practically re-shoot the film, giving the scenes natural lighting, faces natural color, voices stereophonic sound, and the film eternal life. Honorary Academy Award to artist William Cameron Menzies for the use of color; in 1989 it was included in the National Film Registry. Now, Gone with the Wind, considered by many to be the best film of all time, will take pride of place in your collection, in its perfect video version!

Casablanca (1942)
An American who left his homeland, Rick Blaine, the owner of a gambling club in Casablanca, meets with his lover Ilsa, who left him several years ago and who has come to the city with her husband, an anti-fascist resistance fighter, Victor Laszlo. The Germans are on their trail, and Ilsa tries to persuade Rick to hand over important documents that belong to him, which will allow Victor to escape from Casablanca to continue his fight.
