When tireless television producer Becky Fuller is fired from her local news program, her career becomes as hopeless as her personal life. Having settled into a third-rate morning show, Becky decides to revive it by inviting legendary host Mike Pomeroy. Unfortunately, Mike refuses to talk about fashion, weather or gossip about celebrities. This is done by his co-host Colleen Peck, a former beauty queen and morning-show heroine who is thrilled to share the latest "news" with the world. As the presenters go to war, first behind the scenes and then on air, Becky's love for her colleague Adam Bennett enters her life. And now Becky is fighting for her relationships, reputation, work and, of course, for the fate of the show.
