Upon arrival in Boston, Joseph finds a place where they can stay and defends his rights in brutal fist fights. He wins, but his triumph is short-lived as he and Shannon end up in even worse trouble. Joseph gets hired to work on the railroad, but, looking at the passing passages, he remembers his old dream of acquiring his own land. Preparing to lay claim to her in new territories, he unexpectedly meets with Shannon, who, unfortunately, has returned to her ex-fiancé. In a frantic pursuit of land that unfolds in the vastness of Oklahoma, they realize their dreams of land and a life together.
