Miracle on 34th Street
During a major store's Christmas Eve parade, the actor who was supposed to play Santa Claus is found drunk. The parade director, Doris Walker, persuades an old man passing by, Kris Kringle, to take Santa's place. After the success of the parade, Kringle gets a job at the store. However, when the store manager, Mr. Shellhammer, tells Chris to try to sell stale toys to the children, he becomes indignant. Instead, he sends the children to another store owned by their competitor, Mr. Gimble. This provokes big troubles. But things are made worse by Chris's insistence that he is the real Santa Claus. He has to prove this not only in word, but also in deed, as Doris and her skeptical daughter Susan witness. Growing up without a father, Susan tries to get her mother and their neighbor, lawyer Fred Gailey, to live together. Chris, who considers the happiness of children the most important thing in the world, tries to help Susan achieve her goal. Gradually he overcomes Susan's mistrust of his real origin...
