The film begins with the story of an accident that occurred in 2010 at an Orlando aquatic amusement park, when the killer whale Tilikum was pulled underwater and drowned by its trainer. As it turned out, this was not the only victim of the killer whale - ten years before this incident, in 2001, Tilikum drowned a trainer in Victoria Park, Canada. Using shocking footage of killer whale attacks and interviews with witnesses, Gabriela Cowperthwaite tries to find out the true causes of the tragedy.
