Description

In a world ravaged by a nuclear disaster, a small group struggles to survive day by day in a bunker located beneath a museum.
What happens when the apocalypse has truly struck? How can one survive and hold onto hope for tomorrow when all that remains is radioactive rubble, death, and desolation? And when the worst may not yet have happened... This is the premise of «Dead Man's Letters» by Konstantin Lopushansky, directed in 1986 and released at a time when the Chernobyl disaster was still fresh in people’s minds. Based on a screenplay co-written by Boris Strugatsky, and featuring Alexei German, Lopouchanski demonstrates exceptional mastery in his debut feature film, which bears the influence of his mentor Andrei Tarkovsky, for whom he served as production assistant on «STALKER».
