Description

Blanche DuBois arrives in New Orleans to visit her pregnant sister, Stella, who lives with her husband, Stanley, in the local slums. Blanche tells her sister that she is bankrupt, has quit her job, and has nowhere to live and no money. Stanley, the embodiment of naturalism and coarseness, immediately takes a dislike to her for her addiction to alcohol and inappropriate coquetry. Soon, Blanche finds a suitor and a faint hope of marriage, but Stanley ruins their engagement.
